How can I lock my airtel broad band connection using password?as a security concern!?

Hii I am using airtel broad band internet connection, I want to lock this connection regularly, just to avoid kids using internet without my permission, so please any body can guide me wat can be done????

You can set up a password to be able to login to airtel. For that please contact airtel customer care and they will ask you to go to the router page(type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar in IE),advanced options,WAN,and change the settings from pppoe to bridged. Then you need to go to network connections in control panel and create a new connection and then set up my connection manually>connect using a broadband connec that requires a user name and pass>type isp name as airtel>then enter the user name and password as given by airtel. You will be all set.
