I have broad band connection with limited download. How can i controll downloadings by others.?
I have broadband connection for my PC with 6 GB download per month. Can I configure my system, to controll others from downloading data.
I dont want to protect my PC with a password.
Hi Prasad,
There are two things.
1. You don't want to protect the PC with password, fine. But you can protect the browsing using password when you install comoda firewall.
2. You can download bandwidth monitor softwares, which will keep track of your bandwidth use so far. Your ISP also will give you these details but you have to login to their site and check it out.
Let me know if this answer helps you.

yes you can control the downloading frm others… and as u said by applying a password.. nbut still it is highly recomemded that you use an unlimited download plan for a broadband.
reasons
1) while on the net its generally the user doesnt really know how much of data has been downloaded.. like pic and stylings are a nominal download but background music or a video use up ur data pretty quickly.
2) if the network speed is high say 512kbps or more.. the downloads increase like multiple downloadings, multiple site opening at a time..
3) one can never trust on the companys correctness on the extra data charge if the limit is exceeded… and i tell you being a victim of the it its really very big to burn hole in your wallet/pocket/salary
if i were to take the internet connection..a bit low speed(256kbps) but unlimited download would be the open option.
rest is your choice.
