need to know equipment needed to transmit broad band Internet signal from one place to another (all wireless)?
I have broadband internet in my house and want to send the internet signal to my sister’s house 1,000 feet away(have line of sight). Need to know what equipments I need (router, adapter, access point, etc.) Also need to know how to arrange the equipments. I have a broadband modem for the internet in my house.
two ideas…either option would need at least one side to have an outside antenna I’m pretty sure…maybe both. either method would need more research depending on what model/ how much $$.
1. spend some serious cash on a proffesional grade access point-Cisco or something. I think they have some models with a 28 mile range.
2. you could rig a system with (and may not need ALL of these devices depending on equipment location, # of computers connected etc) 2 routers, 2 access points configured for bridge, external antennas.
PS WOW nice antenna…15db @2.4Ghz… yeh get two and point’em at each other first. spend the extra $$ on the low loss cable, make it as short of run as possible, and nokinks in cable.

You just need one of these, and a good wireless router.
It will replace one of the antennas on your router.

Aim it at your sisters house, she should be able to see your signal.
Take heed, and do security…so can eveyone else in her direction!
If you have clean line of site, then it should work well, even at 1000 ft. If it’s weak, get a range extender / signal booster for your primary wireless unit, place it at the closest point on your sisters house. You can get another one of these antennas and point it from the extender to your main unit…simply aim them at each other.
It will work. No matter what the nay sayers murmur.

I would reccomend getting a apple router W/ an antenna. and you may want to buy some extra ethernet cable. Heres what you will want to do. Extend your router to ether A) The closest window OR B) a place that has the "in visual range" or the easiest route to her house. You can get any receiver you pretty much want to but i recammend Linkseys Wireless adapters. They plug into usb ports. You plug the wireless in at the same point as the router. Now heres the thing. I really dont think that ANY wireless router will broadcast to 1000 feet. If you can then more power to you. Good Luck
