How can i convince my mom to get broadband internet?

I am desperate for faster internet and i can’t seem to convince my mom to get it. It costs 5 dollars more a month to get broadband and would only need one phone line so we would be saving about 20 bucks a month. I can’t seem to convince her its cheaper. Do you know any ways i can convince her.

well, your numbers are suspicious – and your mom may feel so, also. Why is $5 more a month $20 cheaper? She needs to understand that.
AND… the bigger issue might be her concern for you. Maybe she thinks you are using the Internet too much and missing out on other avenues of interest and enjoyment… such as soccer, cycling, friends, walking, reading… etc. If that’s the case, then I suggest you consider how much time you’re on Internet and try to talk to her on what her real concerns are. My guess is that it’s not the money; it may just be her concern for your wellbeing and your having exposure to other opportunities as your mature. Talk to mom. Listen to her.

  4. Slash your WRIST but not too deep, just enough to cause a scare and trip to the psych ward. When she asks WHY………tell her it was because she had mentioned that she wouldn’t consider ever getting a BROADBAND INTERNET connection!

  5. Try this… work out all the financial stuff on paper, in a clear and concise manner. You will have to sell the idea to her. Think of it like closing a sale, if you have never worked in sales, think about how salesmen act in stores, they work with you to help come to a decision by using a mix of truth and lie to make you feel that YOU have decided to buy whatever it is they’re selling! Try working in the advantages of some of the software and services that having broadband can make better, such as skype for long distance calling, as well as sites such as Flickr for photosharing!
